Our
Story
We are a husband and wife team sent by GOD, along with our three wonderful children, to the beautiful land of Michigan. We were both born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and all three of our children were born there as well. We have been commissioned by GOD and sent under the authority of our Pastor and Apostle of the LORD, Bishop James Jackson. We remain a part of the First United Pentecostal Church of San Antonio, and we are an extension of the ministry that flows from the "Mother Church". We became members of First UPC of San Antonio in 2010. We were married in 2011, and the LORD has been preparing us since for this commission to pastor Michigan. We were hungry for more of GOD and never sought ministry. GOD chose to place us into many different ministry roles and capacities throughout our time at First UPC. When HE called us to pastor we answered the call with a willingness to leave San Antonio for wherever the LORD directed. It was not easy to leave our home and family, but Michigan has become our home, and the will of GOD is the best place to reside.
We were sent to Michigan out of the First United Pentecostal Church of San Antonio. First UPC has many other works and pastors attached to it both stateside and internationally. It was not always this way, but over the years the LORD has trusted HIS Apostle, Bishop James Jackson, with the responsibility of pastoring other pastors. The LORD has added to those attached by sending ministers out from First UPC and through establishing relationships with pastors from other states and countries. Constant prayer is made for these connected works, and prayer is made for other regions as the LORD instructs. In 2022, a prophetess of the LORD prophesied of Michigan during a prayer meeting. From that moment, Michigan has been bombarded with prayer though the reason was not fully understood at the time. It wasn't until 2023 that the LORD revealed HE had called us to pastor Michigan. We continued to pray as a church until the LORD revealed to our pastor in the spring of 2024 that we were being sent to Flint, Michigan. The LORD continued to prepare our family to answer the call as the year progressed, and in October 2024 we left San Antonio, Texas and arrived in Flint, Michigan.
The LORD has called us to follow HIM as HE leads us in this land. We are not set up as the typical church of modern times. We do not have a church building. We have not been instructed to find or build one. Our direction from the LORD has been to reserve a space in our home for the presence of GOD to dwell. We have reserved our basement as a sanctuary of the LORD. This is the place where a church will be birthed. This is how the New Testament Church was birthed. The husband and wife duo in the book of Acts, Aquila and Priscilla, had a church in their home (Romans 16:3). This is also why we have chosen the name of Michigan Home Bible Studies. The church is going to be built on the foundation and revelation of GOD's word. In the basement, GOD's word is going to be taught, and HIS presence will be manifest. The church is going to be born out of bible studies whether they be with individuals or groups.
